Funny Sayings

Here's the latest round up of cute sayings from the kids:

Olivia at breakfast to the other kids: "Now everyone...I have a surprise for you all.  I am  your big sister now!  (acts as though...can you believe it!).  I am going to be your big sister and I can help you!"

~ "Mommy, some day I'm going to have a boyfriend!"

Timmy: I had put my head back and was resting my eyes when I heard him say, "Hock a doodle doo...wake up la-z-y bones!"

~ He has a sound machine that has a waterfall setting.  He calls it either "fadderwall" or "Bumpa's boat" since it sounds like the water that Bumpa's boat is on!

Naomi:  For several months we've been praying for our vacation to go "smooth and well".  The other night, when vocalizing our nightly Rosary intentions, Naomi prayed that "Gramma M would be smooth and well!"

I'm sure there's more as usual, but I can't remember!

End of the School Year!

Olivia on her First Grade Orientation day.  Is it possible?!  Can my little girl be old enough to be off to first grade next year?!  Can I just say, I feel SO blessed to be able to stay home with my children.  Had she been in day care all this time, I would have missed this precious time before she heads off to school for the next 12 years of her life!
Naomi's Recognition Ceremony for the completion of her Parent Child Home Preschool Program.  We all enjoyed having Ms. Adelida come to our house for 30 min. every Tuesday and Thursday to do preschool activities with everyone.
And, what would a blog post be without a picture of the little monkey :-) (who bobbled her little head back and forth and watched everything at Naomi's recognition ceremony!  She's rather nosy!)

Odds and Ends

Planting Dahlia's with Daddy!
Since it's been so long since I've actually posted, I thought I would just post a few more recent pictures along with a few of the cute things that have happened around here.

Olivia lost her first top tooth today!  It's been hanging by a thread for days!  She was SO excited!  This makes her 5th tooth that she's lost!  And she's only 5!  She is finishing up Kindergarten and has 1st grade orientation in a few weeks!

Naomi turned 4 last month!  She's recognizing more and more letters and knows all her colors.  She "graduates" from her little home preschool program in two weeks!

Timmy is totally boy and continues to be very active!  He had his first set of stitches a few weeks ago...smack dab on his forehead above his left eye!  Whenever you tell him to smile, he squints his eyes!

Gabrielle is 2 1/2 months already!  How did that happen?!  She was 10lb 3 oz at her 2 month check up- a gain of 3 lb 6 oz. She is so smiley now and coos a lot as well.  The kids love to sit and make her smile!  She is settling down and not quite so fussy now.  We discovered that she loves being swaddled.  Thanks to The Happiest Baby on the Block we have discovered how to calm her down when she works herself up.  We all love her to death and she gets millions of kisses a day!

Cute Sayings from the Kids

Thought I'd give this week's installment of cute kid sayings...not a day goes by without something funny coming out of at least one of them!  Wish I could remember them all!

Olivia: We went to Davis Farmland the other day and they have a section with adorable playhouses all set up in a little village.  They have houses, a tool shed, a market, a vet, etc.  Olivia spent most of the time in the vet house.  I went in and asked her how she was doing and she said: "This is my cat Laura.  She's very sick.  She has very bad cavities in her ears and her belly!"  Later on she told me the cat died!

Naomi:  Upon asking her what we should name the baby if it is a girl, she replied "Butterfly Island" and continues to say so day after day!  Needless to say, she will not be naming this child!

The girls "get married" on a daily basis now.  Some days it's an elaborate occasion...like today when they danced to George Winston music.  Some days, it's very matter of fact...they "have the marriage", "pop out a baby" and get on with life!

I wish I could think of the other things they've said and done over the last few days!  If I remember them, I'll post again!

From the Mouths of Babes

A couple cute sayings from Naomi this week:

~ deflated balloon- "Mommy, my balloon is out of breath!"
~ praying for Nana's "hips"- "Poor Nana, she has hips!"
~ getting dressed this morning- "Naomi, I think this dress is too fancy for a play dress"..."Ok, Mommy (pointing to another dress)...is this one too crunchy?"

"I'm Nomie"

Conversation between Pete and Naomi today:

Pete: "Naomi you look like a Purple Princess!"
Naomi: "No! I'm Nomie"
P: "Oh are you Princess Naomi?"
N: "No! I'm Nomie!"
P: "Oh, you're just regular Naomi?"
N: "No, I'm Nomie!" (said very emphatically!)

Sisterly Bond

Olivia and Timmy fell right to sleep tonight without a problem. Naomi took a nap this afternoon, so she's having a bit of trouble falling asleep. I could hear movement in her room and went to check on her. She had climbed up into Olivia's bed and tucked herself in next to Olivia. She was awake but laying quietly. I did make her get down and get in her bed as she's still too little to sleep on a top bunk, but I thought it was so cute! I would have taken a picture if she was asleep!

Naomi's 3rd Birthday!

We had a little brunch with grandparents/great grandparents to celebrate Naomi's 3rd birthday last Sunday. I think the little princess enjoyed it :-)

Happy Birthday Naomi! We thank God every day for blessing us with you! We love you to pieces!

Naomi and Doll Clothes!

Auntie GG (Angela) brought down some doll clothes for the girls to play with on Sunday. Needless to say they LOVE them! Naomi has been waking up before everyone else lately, so she sat and played with her doll and the doll clothes and a beloved cat that came with the doll clothes until Olivia woke up! It kept her quite content for quite some time! She has entered into a new stage of imagination and is often found imagining...using anything from dolls/stuffed animals, to her fingers and toes, to forks and spoons!
