Timmy is...potty trained!
Dare I even say it?! I'm afraid I'll jinx myself! Timmy actually decided to potty train himself a few days ago
and has been doing great! I'd just been putting him on the toilet when I caught
him pooping and then one day about a month or so ago, I put him in underwear all
day and he peed through every pair. I gave up and didn't push it because it was
too much with trying to nurse Gabrielle every 2 hours. Then one morning, I
found him out of bed, diaper off, sitting on the toilet and we went with it!
He's had minimal accidents and we've even worn underpants out in public to two stores! He does still continue to wear diapers at night, but generally makes it through the night with a pretty dry diaper!
Funny Sayings
Here's the latest round up of cute sayings from the kids:
Olivia at breakfast to the other kids: "Now everyone...I have a surprise for you all. I am your big sister now! (acts as though...can you believe it!). I am going to be your big sister and I can help you!"
~ "Mommy, some day I'm going to have a boyfriend!"
Timmy: I had put my head back and was resting my eyes when I heard him say, "Hock a doodle doo...wake up la-z-y bones!"
~ He has a sound machine that has a waterfall setting. He calls it either "fadderwall" or "Bumpa's boat" since it sounds like the water that Bumpa's boat is on!
Naomi: For several months we've been praying for our vacation to go "smooth and well". The other night, when vocalizing our nightly Rosary intentions, Naomi prayed that "Gramma M would be smooth and well!"
I'm sure there's more as usual, but I can't remember!

You Know You're a Nursing Mom When...
...your 2 year old son (who hasn't been nursed in a year):
~wants to crawl in your lap and "feed Tim Tim"
~climbs up in the chair and puts your Boppy (nursing pillow) on his lap and wants you to give him the baby so he can "feed Gabielle"
~when told he can't feed Gabrielle, he grabs a doll instead and "feeds baby" and sings songs from a book to her

Odds and Ends
| Planting Dahlia's with Daddy! |
Olivia lost her first top tooth today! It's been hanging by a thread for days! She was SO excited! This makes her 5th tooth that she's lost! And she's only 5! She is finishing up Kindergarten and has 1st grade orientation in a few weeks!
Naomi turned 4 last month! She's recognizing more and more letters and knows all her colors. She "graduates" from her little home preschool program in two weeks!
Timmy is totally boy and continues to be very active! He had his first set of stitches a few weeks ago...smack dab on his forehead above his left eye! Whenever you tell him to smile, he squints his eyes!
Gabrielle is 2 1/2 months already! How did that happen?! She was 10lb 3
oz at her 2 month check up- a gain of 3 lb 6 oz. She is so smiley now
and coos a lot as well. The kids love to sit and make her smile! She
is settling down and not quite so fussy now. We discovered that she
loves being swaddled. Thanks to The Happiest Baby on the Block we have discovered how to calm her down when she works herself up. We all love her to death and she gets millions of kisses a day!

Little Mr. Particular!
Timmy is turning into a little man who is quite particular about things. A few days ago, I put him down for a nap. A few minutes into his "nap", I heard his bedroom door open and shut again. A bit later all was quiet. I went to check on him as I always do to make sure he was asleep. Outside his door was a book on the floor. I thought it was odd, but picked it up and put it away. The next day, a book and his shoes were out in front of his door. That night his book was out in front of the door again! Apparently, when he is done reading his book, it needs to be placed outside his door! Pete says it's like he's "putting the trash out!"
Last night before putting him to bed, Pete cleaned up his room and put his tonka truck on the shelf. When it came time to put him to bed, Timmy was all distraught that the truck was on the shelf and not in a particular spot on the floor under the window! Of course, he was not allowed to move it and had to go to bed with the truck on the shelf!
When visiting Liam for his birthday, little Dennis had chocolate cake all over his face. Timmy was all concerned that Dennis' face was so messy!!!

18 months and a rascal!
Timmy is 18 months now and what a rascal! He is ALL boy! He loves to throw things, hit things, run around, climb.... and dunk Mommy's phone into the girls cup of milk! I walked into the kitchen yesterday morning to find my phone submerged in milk! Naturally, I'm not eligible for an upgrade until 8/2, but luckily I had an old phone I could use in the meantime! My rascal is making thunder sounds from his high chair at the moment, covered in yogurt! (Thankfully, we are getting rain right now! Hopefully it'll help cool off this oppressive 100 degree weather! Yesterday my car thermometer read 104! Our yard is turning brown from the heat, so this rain is very welcome!)

It has happened....
I was wondering how long it would take before I discovered Timmy in his crib one morning with no diaper on! It was so hot last night that we put him to be in just a diaper. Sure enough, I walked in this morning to a naked baby and a poopy diaper cast to the side. He was quite upset about it and concerned! Not sure if he'll do it again *though he probably will*!

Toothbrushes
Timmy has really taken a new leap in his ability to put two and two together. Last night we put him to bed and he cried and cried, which is unusual for him. Usually he goes right down. I knew something was wrong so I went in there to check on him. When I got over to his crib he started pointing to the door and then to his teeth and saying "tee tee". He wanted to brush his teeth! He knows that we brush our teeth before we got to bed and that I'd forgotten to do his!
The other day, he dragged over one of the child size chairs all the way to my closed bedroom door so he could climb up and reach the door knob. He stood up on it and was trying to open it when I caught him!
He can reach the pantry door handle now and let himself in there the other day. He loves the boiler room in there! True boy! The pantry door is now locked at all times!
As I type, he is climbing up the child size chair trying to climb over the back of the couch like he just saw his sister do (who was immediately reprimanded since we don't do that in this house!)
