38 weeks and counting....!

Today marks 38 weeks of this pregnancy!  Wow!  That happened fast!  I guess when you're chasing 3 little munchkins around all day, you don't really notice how fast the time is going!  You DO however notice how big your belly is getting, how difficult it is to bend over, get off the couch or keep up enough energy to make it until their bedtime!  Everything looked good at my midwife appointment today!  No news on dilation or anything yet...maybe she'll check me next week!

The best part about tonight was I got to redeem a gift certificate for a spa pedicure that Pete gave me for Christmas this year!  What a treat!  For a full hour I got to sit down, relax in a comfortable massaging chair, soak my feet in warm water powered with gets, get my legs and feet massaged, close my eyes and not jump up after anyone!  And, to top it off, I came home to an empty house!  It's is perfectly quiet in the house right now, which is an absolute rarity!  I have about 20 minutes of peace and quiet left, so I think I'll go soak it in!  There's no telling when it will happen again!!!

Happy Friday!

Rather than pack my hospital bag, I thought I'd procrastinate a bit more and post a picture to brighten up your Friday!

Alright, I'll quit procrastinating and go pack that bag!  My goal will be to have it packed and a list of last minute things written before lunch.  That gives me 1 hour...which should be doable with all the interruptions I'll likely get!

Procrastinating

I have 18 days until my due date.  That's just under 3 weeks!  So, why in the world is my hospital bag not packed yet?  I have the kids bags all packed to go to Grandma's while I'm gone...complete with a schedule and a "last minute" list of things to pack.  I have the baby's changing table all set...all clothes (boy and girl 0-3 months) are washed and sorted into two different laundry baskets for easy access when we finally find out if this baby is a little Mr. or Miss.  I have all the sheets, burp cloths, diapers, etc. out.  BUT, my hospital bag remains unpacked.  Of course, that is probably one of the most important things right now to have done.  I mean, someone else could have packed the kids bags if necessary; someone else could have washed and sorted clothes and equipment.  But, no one else quite knows what I need during labor and delivery and postpartum!  Is it because I'm in denial that this baby is due so soon?  Is it because I'm a perfectionist and am afraid I'll forget something important?  Is it because I'm lazy tired and uncomfortable and really don't feel like waddling around anymore?  Whatever the reason, I'd better get to it regardless!  Otherwise, I'm going to end up at the hospital rather unprepared...not really a scenario I want!

So, now to get off the computer and pack the bag or fold laundry?  It's a toss up...I dread both!
